Human Immortality Thoughts

My Body is a Life Support System, and my Life is an Identity Support System. Transhumanism is saying “I need a better support system for my identity.”

That’s a good reason to want an Artificial Body.

“Life is just Nature’s Way of keeping Meat Fresh.” — Doctor Who.

So, I don’t need to be Alive as long as my Identity has a similar vehicle to self-identify as.

Based on this Philosophy, I ceased to be the Original when I added Eyeglasses to my Design. The Grandfather’s Axe is no longer the original when you replace the handle. Keeping to the Original isn’t possible. The key issue is preserving and carrying forward what is really vital and important. The presence of self that identifies as a person. Even if I lose all my Memories, I can continue to feel like I exist. I can read about who I used to be, and make new Memories.

If I have to start over with a brand new body, I’m going to be an infant for a good number of years, and I’m going to need to be taken care of like an infant, and I will learn to walk and use my hands and feet all over again, because these are new hands and new feet. I had to adapt to my current ones in the same way. It took a long time! My typing speed increased over decades when I wasn’t paying attention.

You never step in the same river twice, even if it’s the same river. I’m not even the same person I was yesterday. There is a different arrangement of nutrients in my blood, and decay has been replaced with regrowth. This is the flow. The Human State is consistently Dynamic, not Static. You want a Preserved Static Consciousness that never existed in the first place hahahahahahaha!

That’s why we can’t Quantify Human Consciousness. You can’t upload a file that doesn’t retain a static definition. There’s no way to verify that the file was transferred over the network.

Given this framework of thought, you don’t transition from a Human to an Artificial Human. Changing into a Machine is a very Human thing to do, and you are still Human. Humanity is change.

Your Home, your Car, your Phone, and the 5 People you talk to most are all part of your Human Body. My keyboard is part of my hands, even when it is swapped out. My Monitors are part of my Eyes. My Speakers and Headphones are part of my Ears. The Internet is my External Memory. These words are literally a part of my body.

What is the core internal spark? It is a collection of things, not just one. My body is full of living things which are also me.

A Machine imbued by a Human with an internally sprung force of will is also a Human.
